# ⚔️ COURSE 001 — WELCOME TO THE TRENCHES
### The First Hour Every Crypto User Should Have

> "Nobody is born understanding wallets. Everyone starts somewhere.
> This is where we make sure you survive."

Not a course — **the tutorial level of a game.** Nintendo teaching cybersecurity:
every lesson is something you experience, never something you read. Grounded in
Brooke's executive-function pedagogy paper + EP4's wallet canon. Spec v2
(2026-07-02), merging the founder's design session.

## Educational goals (the checklist the course must earn)

What a wallet actually is · why blockchains are public · how transactions work ·
why scammers target beginners · what approvals actually mean · gas fees · basic
risk management · why autonomous trading exists · why Degen Daycare exists.

## THE RHYTHM — every chamber, exactly six beats

1. **HOOK** — a beautiful animated scene + one sentence that destroys a misconception
2. **STORY** — Professor explains; visuals reinforce; zero jargon, zero text walls
3. **INTERACTION** — the student immediately DOES the thing (never just clicks Next)
4. **CONSEQUENCE** — wrong answers are never "Incorrect." Something HAPPENS:
wallet drains, robot explodes, gas burns money. They remember forever.
5. **REFLECTION** — Professor explains WHY, not just what happened
6. **REWARD** — XP, badge, music hit, door opens, next chamber unlocks

## Visual language

Descending rooms of an underground bunker — the deeper you go, the smarter you
get. Every room: animated machinery, moving light, interactive objects, the
Professor as hologram, robot assistants, ambient music (Suno pipeline), and
hidden things for the curious. Assets: Meshy + Blender pipeline per
`MYTHOS/DESIGN_NORTHSTAR.md` budgets.

## CHAMBER 1 — WHAT IS A WALLET?
**Theme:** underground vault. Steel doors, chains, glowing locks, thousands of floating keys.
**Hook:** *"People think wallets hold coins. They don't. Wallets hold **permission**."*
**Interaction:** drag each object where it belongs — wallet app, Ledger, seed
phrase, coin, address, private key, public key. Wrong placements trigger mini
demonstrations, not error text.
**Mini challenge:** "My Bitcoin is inside MetaMask." TRUE / FALSE → Professor explains why it's false.
**Boss:** four glowing objects, only one IS your wallet. Wrong = the vault refuses. Right = cinematic unlock.
**Reward:** 🗝️ **Bronze Key**

## CHAMBER 2 — THE BLOCKCHAIN NEVER SLEEPS
**Theme:** infinite underground archive; blocks assembling overhead; transactions flying through pipes.
**Hook:** *"This ledger belongs to everyone. Nobody owns it. Everybody verifies it."*
**Interaction:** find Hector's REAL wallet on a real explorer (Solscan, guided
overlay) — balance, a transaction, gas, timestamp, receiver. Real data, never
fake screenshots. (Truth Art. II applied to teaching.)
**Boss:** "Did Hector really make this transaction?" — the student must PROVE it on-chain.
**Reward:** 🧭 **Explorer Badge**

## CHAMBER 3 — VAMPIRE HALLWAY *(make this legendary)*
**Theme:** dark hallway, candles, doors. Fake Discord DMs, popups, airdrops,
support messages, QR codes, approval requests. Everything whispers. Every voice
wants something. The hallway itself tries to trick the student.
**The moment:** "Congratulations! Claim your NFT." → student clicks → **wallet
drains → the whole chamber goes dark.** Professor, quietly: *"That's exactly how
fast it happens."* No lecture. Just pain. Then retry.
**Six encounters, six scam patterns:** approval drains · fake support · seed
phrase theft · fake mint · malicious wallet-connect · urgency bait.
**Boss:** the Vampire — **his cape is sewn from wallet approvals.** The only way
to win: reject every single one he offers.
**Reward:** 🪵 **Wooden Stake Badge**
*(Honesty guardrail: we teach recognition and defense; mechanics of attacks stay abstracted.)*

## CHAMBER 4 — DEATH BY FEES
**Theme:** underground casino/trading pit; bots everywhere; coins flying.
**Hook:** *"Being right isn't enough. Math has to agree."*
**Interaction:** the slider game — trade size, frequency, gas, spread, win rate →
watch a promising P&L get eaten alive. Find the survivable zone.
**Hidden curriculum:** compounding, execution costs, slippage, edge, expected
value — their first quant lesson, disguised as a game. (12bps/flip: the same
number Hector's engine uses. Same truth, same source.)
**Reward:** 🧮 **Calculator Core**

## CHAMBER 5 — MEET THE GLADIATORS
**Theme:** the arena floor. Crowd. Robots preparing. Hector center stage.
**Hook:** *"These aren't magic. They're disciplined."*
**Interaction:** inspect Hector, Sam, Lianna — strategy, win rate, drawdown,
current research, LIVE gate cards (rendered from the real `docs/*.json`).
**The habit hook:** predict which bot wins tomorrow's paper day → come back →
see the real result. Prediction → return → habit.
**Final cinematic:** camera rises — the entire underground university revealed:
training rooms, arenas, labs, the League. *The classroom was only the entrance.*
**Reward:** 🏅 **TRENCH RAT — Cohort 001** → unlocks Episode 1, advanced courses,
leaderboard flair, their first permanent identity inside Degen Daycare.

## 📓 THE PROFESSOR'S NOTEBOOK (core mechanic — every course forever)

Every correct interaction unlocks a handwritten notebook page: sketches, diagrams,
jokes, one-liners. By the course's end the student has *accidentally built their
own crypto reference guide* — revisitable anytime. Every future course adds
chapters to the SAME notebook: one connected world, not separate lessons.
This is the University's spine. Build it as a reusable component from day one.

## Hidden layer (for completionists)

Each chamber secretly contains: one historical crypto story · one famous exploit
retold · one philosophy quote · one easter egg · one secret animation · one
legendary collectible. Replay value = retention.

## Phasing (ship discipline — Constitution: shipping over perfection)

- **v1 (build now):** all 5 chambers with the 6-beat rhythm · 2D-animated drills +
3D hero scenes within budget · Notebook (localStorage) · badges + Trench Rat ·
PROF voice via existing tts pipeline · hidden collectibles in chambers 1–3
- **v2:** full 3D interiors · XP/meta-progression · trading cards, blueprints,
lore pages, skins · leaderboard presence
- **v2 checkpoint (founder):** accounts/persistent identity = real user data —
Brooke decides the stack and the privacy posture before anything ships
- **Forever rule:** every drill uses real data where real data exists; the day a
fake screenshot enters the University is the day the whole thesis dies

## Definition of done (v1) — unchanged and sacred

A smart 15-year-old finishes in ~20 minutes, laughs twice, fails the Vampire
Hallway at least once, passes it the second time, can explain seed phrases and
approvals to a parent, checks tomorrow's prediction — and clicks into Episode 1.
